Vardag i bruset –

Life in the Noise

Life in the noise is, for me, about trying to hear my own thoughts in a world full of sounds, images, and truths pulling in different directions.
This text comes from coffee, from the morning, and from a need for stillness.

For me, everyday life in the noise is nothing dramatic.
It is simply this – sitting here, trying to hear myself.

Another day, I sit here drinking my coffee.
My grandmother’s lamp is on, as usual, and I am the only one awake.

I wake up earlier and earlier now.
Of course, it has to do with when I go to bed – and in the evenings, I am tired.
There is nothing cozier than letting the evening simply be, not fighting the tiredness, but going to bed.
I usually do that around eight.

Sure, I lie there scrolling on my phone for a while.
But quite often I catch myself realizing that I am really just scrolling in order not to see.
A rather meaningless activity, if it is only a habit.
Or perhaps meaningless in the larger sense.

Still, I think this is how it is for many of us.
Before, we lay reading a book.
Now, we lie scrolling.

And yet, it is not the same.

A book could be fictional – we knew that.
What we see on our phones may be someone’s reality, but still only their reality.
Or something born out of their thoughts.

Conspiracies are cultivated out there in the wide world.
In a book, there are the words of one person, born from a thought that became a story.
On the web, there are millions of thoughts, lives, voices – and all of them want, in some way, to be heard.

Some words are informative.
Others are written for attention.

Just as life has always been.
But today there are so many truths – and some of them are not true at all.

And then there is AI.
Making the impossible possible in film and images.
It has become harder to know whether what we see is real,
or whether it is technology that has made the impossible possible.

Life in the Noise – the Blog in the Middle of the World

life in the noise – a foggy lake symbolizing stillness and reflection

Everyday life in the noise, for me, is about trying to hear my own thoughts in a world full of sounds, images, and truths pulling in different directions.

And in the middle of all this, here I am.
In the noise of words, images, sounds, and truths pulling in different directions.

I do not write to sort out what is true.
I write to catch sight of myself.

My blog is not a place for answers.
It is a place for thoughts that grow out of everyday life – out of the coffee cup, the morning light, the tiredness in the evening, and that feeling that the world can sometimes be too much.

Perhaps that is exactly why I write.
Because somewhere, it must be quiet enough to feel.

Thursday’s Movement – What the Numbers Whisper

It is Thursday.
And the numbers are there, like small traces of movement.

Over the past week, the blog has had around 600 views.
Not in a rush, but spread across days, texts, and themes.

The most read posts have been about:

That tells me something.

That it is not the big answers that draw people in.
But the texts that stay close to everyday life.
To what feels familiar.

Readers are here in Sweden, but also in the United States, Ireland, and in places I have never been.
Words written at a kitchen table travel farther than I can fully understand.

And perhaps that is what the statistics show me this week:
that there are more people searching for the slow,
the human,
the things that do not shout.

I see the numbers.
But I also see between them.
That someone paused for a moment.
In the middle of their own noise.

I do not think everything has to be true in order to be meaningful.
But it does need to be honestly felt.

And right now, it is enough to sit here.
With the coffee.
With the lamp.
With words that are allowed to be slow.

Yesterday has already come to rest in history.
Tomorrow is waiting further ahead.
But right now – this is where life happens.

AHA – Between the Lines

This is a text about resistance.
Not loud. Not angry.
But a quiet choice:

To choose presence instead of noise.
To write in order to feel – not to convince.
To let the small things have space in a world that shouts.

Questions for You, the Reader

Where do you find stillness when the world becomes too much?

What do you do to avoid feeling – and what happens when you dare to stop?

Is there something small in your everyday life that helps you land?
