Every week I look at the statistics for Malix.se. Not because I’m chasing big numbers, but because I want to understand what’s happening with the blog and what you, my readers, seem to enjoy the most.

This week has been especially interesting.

Blog Statistics Week 28 – The Most Read Posts

Once again, the most popular post was ”Everyday Life, ADHD and Presence,” followed by several of my newest motorhome articles.

That tells me the blog still stands firmly on two foundations.

One is everyday life, ADHD, and personal reflections. The other is motorhome life, travel, and the experiences we’ve gathered over the years.

I like that balance. It reflects my life very well.

Facebook Is Still the Biggest Traffic Source

Most of my genuine visitors still come from Facebook. The Motorhome Club website also continues to send readers my way, and I’m happy to see that Google is gradually discovering more of my articles.

This is exactly what we’ve been working toward during the past few weeks.

Blog Statistics Week 28 Shows That Google Is Finding the Blog More Often

In Google Search Console I can see that my blog now appears in search results more frequently than before.

The number of impressions is increasing, and so are the clicks from Google.

These may not look like huge numbers yet, but every click represents someone searching for something and choosing to read my blog.

It also shows that all the work we’ve put into SEO, menus, and internal links is beginning to make a real difference.

A Norway Article Was a Surprise

One of my articles about Otta, Norway, has suddenly started receiving many more impressions in Google.

It’s a reminder that it’s impossible to predict which stories will find their audience. Sometimes it’s the article you believe in the most. Other times it’s the quiet one that slowly begins to take on a life of its own.

Not Every Big Number Represents Real Readers

When I opened Google Analytics, it first looked as if my blog had attracted tens of thousands of visitors.

But after taking a closer look, I realized that much of that traffic came from automated systems and search bots. Many of them visited pages that don’t even exist and left within a second.

It reminded me that statistics always need to be understood, not just admired.

Large numbers don’t always mean real people.

To me, one hundred genuine readers who stop, read, and reflect are worth far more than tens of thousands of automated visits.

Blog Statistics Week 28 and SEO Development

This week we’ve also spent time working on things that aren’t immediately visible.

We’ve improved the menus, worked on SEO, reviewed headings, added internal links, and improved the overall structure of the blog.

It may not be the most exciting work, but it’s the foundation that helps both readers and search engines find their way around.

Between the Lines

When I started blogging many years ago, I mainly wrote to organize my thoughts.

Today I still write for the same reason.

The difference is that I also want to make it easier for people searching for these topics to actually find my writing.

Statistics are therefore about much more than numbers.

They tell the story of which words find their readers, which stories continue to live on, and which people choose to stay for a while.

Perhaps those readers are the ones who matter the most.

Blog Statistics Week 28 shows that the blog continues to grow, one small step at a time. Next week we’ll see what new lessons and discoveries are waiting.

📚 Blog Statistics Week 28 – Malix Blog School

This week’s lesson was simple:

Google Analytics and Google Search Console are not the same thing.

When I first opened Google Analytics, it looked as though my blog had more than 43,000 visitors.

It sounded incredible.

But after taking a closer look, I realized that much of the traffic came from automated bots searching for pages that don’t even exist.

Google Search Console painted a completely different picture.

There I could follow how often my blog appeared in Google searches, which search terms brought visitors to the blog, and how the number of clicks is steadily increasing.

My biggest lesson this week was not to become obsessed with large numbers.

What matters most to me is that real people find my blog, read my stories, and that the blog slowly becomes more visible in search engines.

📚 Malix Blog School – This Week’s Tip

Lesson: Always compare several analytics tools.

• Jetpack shows what your readers actually do on your website.
• Google Search Console shows how your blog performs in Google Search.
• Google Analytics shows visitor behaviour, but it may also include automated traffic.

My advice: Don’t focus only on the number of visitors. Pay attention to where they come from, which articles they read, and whether Google is gradually showing your content more often.
