Crab Meeting Kungshamn – Cliffs, Swimming and Small Miracles in LVL²

The crab meeting in Kungshamn became the highlight of the weekend. Between cliffs, sea swimming and everyday moments in our LVL², we experienced nature’s small miracles. These are the moments that turn into memories to carry with us.

I wrote this yesterday, but saved it for today. Sometimes words need to rest, and when they do, they often grow bigger in the morning light.

The Crab Meeting in Kungshamn – Half an Hour of Miracles

The day started with excitement. Down by the boats, the crabs were having a big gathering. Maybe it was their annual meeting, or maybe just a matter of defending their territory.

When one crab approached another, they raised themselves, showing off their size. In the end, one usually backed away sideways, as if realizing it had met its match. It was funny and fascinating at the same time.

Simply sitting still and watching became a miracle in itself. The three of us watched the crabs for over half an hour.

One of the crabs came up on land for a moment. None of us dared touch it, so my husband put it back into the sea.

Walking Up the Cliffs

Along the shore, jellyfish floated, so swimming was not an option just then. Instead, my husband and I went for a walk, while our youngest stayed behind.

The bare cliffs, already touched by the colors of autumn.

We crossed a bay and climbed a long staircase up to the bare cliffs. The view was both demanding and breathtaking. From the top, we saw sailboats and motorboats passing by, while seagulls guarded their young.

Fishing Rod, Balance and Care

I had brought a fishing rod and cast a few times. I didn’t catch any fish, but that didn’t matter. The important thing was the movement – the throw and the reel-in – a rhythm that gave peace, almost meditative.

The rocky path was difficult. My husband held my hand through the dangerous parts, and sometimes I had to take a detour. With a mix of fear and surprise in his voice, he said that I had become older. I didn’t get upset, because he was right.

Even so, I made it through, and the climb became a proper workout.

Swimming at the Ladder

Eventually we found a ladder down into the sea. We looked carefully: no jellyfish in sight. I was warm, tired, but happy. So I took off my clothes and stepped into the water.

The coolness surrounded me. A few jellyfish threads brushed against me, but that didn’t matter. Because you never regret the swims you take – only the ones you don’t.

The Presence of Birds

The day was filled with birds keeping us company. A small bird stood firmly on its rock. A flock of sparrows picked at the ground. And a goose stretched its wings, almost dancing across the water.

Afternoon Sun and the Smell of Barbecue

Later in the afternoon, the sun broke through. I laid down, enjoying its warmth, and fell asleep – only to wake up from my own snoring.

My husband grilled, but I felt finished with barbecuing for the year. He wasn’t done, and our youngest enjoyed it too. We sat outside by our LVL² – I worked on the blog while my husband checked his horses.

Garage Order and New Crab Adventures

I organized a bit in the motorhome’s garage and found a crab fishing rod. With some leftover chicken and hamburgers, we went back down to the pier. The crabs happily accepted our offerings. One came up on land, but my husband had to put it back into the water.

Going Home and the Nearness of Autumn

Today we pack up and head home. Another weekend with LVL² is done. More memories gathered – ones I’ll lean on during winter.

Soon it will be time for candlelight and the fire in the basement stove. Those moments are also beautiful – to watch the flames consume the wood and feel the warmth.

Maybe I’ll keep swimming during winter. I haven’t decided yet.

Closing Words

The weekend was filled with small miracles: the crab meeting, the seagulls watching, the rhythm of the fishing rod, my husband’s steady hand, the sea’s coolness, the warmth of the sun, the barbecue smell, and the evening crabbing. Life shows itself in the small things, in the moments that turn into memories.

Reflection

I see that I still choose to participate. Even when my steps are shaky, there is so much to experience. Miracles live in the simple – like daring to swim, or just lying in the sun and snoring a little.

Between the Lines – My Voice

Between the lines, the text shows that I carry an eye for the small that becomes big. A crab, a bird, or a swim grow into miracles when I choose to see them that way. Even my vulnerability – shaky balance and an aging body – is part of the story. But it also shows that I refuse to let it stop me. I still choose to live, fully present.

AHA – Between the Lines

Life doesn’t end just because it sways. On the contrary – it needs to be lived, still and yet again. AHA – it’s in the experiences, not in perfection, that life becomes whole.
