Once or twice a year, we come here to enjoy the view, the salty swims, and the wonderful feeling of living by the sea. The service facilities are spotless, and the campsite is cozy and family-friendly.
The only thing to watch out for is crossing the road to get into town – cars tend to drive a little too fast on the curve. But if you look carefully, you’ll make it across in one piece.
Waking Up Early in Kungshamn
Waking up at half-past four here in Kungshamn wasn’t exactly the dream. The darkness lay heavy over the sky, and the wind howled, creating sounds that made it hard to enjoy the silence.
But the coffee – it tasted amazing. That feeling of truly being off work, fully free, was strong. After a while, I went back to bed and slept for a couple more hours.
A Morning with Fever and an Upset Stomach
During the night, I’d had a fever and felt chilled, and my stomach was acting up again. But after some rest in the morning, I felt better – the fever seemed to have passed.
By mid-morning, we decided to take a walk to Coop to shop for dinner: baked potatoes, grilled chicken fillets, and a fresh salad. Of course, tzatziki would be the perfect finishing touch.
A Chilly Swim – But Worth Every Second!
When we got back from the store, I quickly changed into my swimwear and headed to the jetty. Unfortunately, I’d forgotten my swim gloves, so my fingers got cold in the water.
I won’t deny it was chilly, but the feeling afterward was unbeatable. My whole body was filled with endorphins, my thoughts slowed down, and a deep sense of calm settled in for hours.
A warm shower in the motorhome was enough to heat me back up, and I haven’t been cold since.
Dinner in the Motorhome – A Royal Setting
The potatoes were baking slowly in the oven. The chicken fillets were marinating, and soon it was time to prepare the salad. Tonight, I planned to set the table a bit more elegantly here in the motorhome – there’s something special about eating indoors when autumn is in the air.
After dinner, my sketchbook would come out, and perhaps the evening would end with a movie on Netflix.
A Perfect End to the Motorhome Season
The sun is shining here in Kungshamn, and the wind isn’t too cold. It feels like the perfect way to close the motorhome season – a mix of calm, nature, cozy moments, and a hint of melancholy.
There’s something magical about feeling the crisp autumn air after a swim, then stepping into the warmth to enjoy a good dinner.
Now I’m looking forward to a relaxing evening of creativity and maybe a film.

Någon gång, eller åtminstone några gånger om året, åker vi hit för att njuta av utsikten, de salta baden och den där härliga känslan av att bo vid havet. Här är servicehuset rent och fräscht, och campingen är både gemytlig och familjevänlig.
Det enda man bör vara försiktig med är att korsa vägen in till stan – bilarna kör ofta lite väl fort i kurvan. Men om man ser sig för ordentligt, klarar man sig med livet i behåll.
Vaknar tidigt i Kungshamn
Att vakna halv fem här i Kungshamn var inte direkt en höjdare. Mörkret låg tungt över himlen och vinden ven, skapade ljud som gjorde det svårt att njuta av tystnaden. Men kaffet – det smakade riktigt bra. Känslan av att vara ledig, på riktigt ledig, var stark.
Efter en stund vid bordet gick jag tillbaka till sängen och somnade om i några timmar till.
En morgon med feber och en krånglig mage
Under natten hade jag haft feber och frusit, och magen krånglade igen. Men efter lite vila på morgonen kändes det bättre – febern verkade ha gett med sig.
Vi tog en promenad till Coop för att handla inför middagen: bakad potatis, grillad kycklingfilé och en fräsch sallad. Självklart blir det tzatziki för den där extra touchen.
Ett kyligt dopp – men så värt det!
När vi kom tillbaka från affären bytte jag snabbt om till badkläder och gick ner till bryggan. Tyvärr hade jag glömt badvantarna, så fingrarna frös i vattnet.
Jag ska inte sticka under stol med att det var kallt, men känslan efteråt var oslagbar. Kroppen fylldes av endorfiner och tankarna saktade ner. Den där stilla ron som bara ett kallbad kan ge, seglade in i kroppen och stannade i timmar.
En varm dusch i husbilen räckte gott som värme, och efter det frös jag inte alls.
Middag i husbilen – Kunglig dukning
Potatisarna bakas långsamt i ugnen. Kycklingfiléerna ligger i marinad, och snart är det dags att slänga ihop salladen. Ikväll tänker jag duka upp lite extra fint här inne i husbilen – det är något speciellt med att sitta inne och äta när hösten gör sig påmind.
Efter middagen väntar mitt ritblock, och kanske avslutas kvällen med en film på Netflix.
En värdig avslutning på husbilsåret
Solen skiner här i Kungshamn och vinden är mild. Det känns som en perfekt avslutning på husbilssäsongen – en blandning av lugn, natur, mysiga stunder och lite vemod.
Det är något magiskt med att känna den friska höstluften efter ett bad och sedan krypa in i värmen för att njuta av en god middag.
Nu ser jag fram emot en avkopplande kväll med kreativt skapande och kanske en film.
