Behind the Behaviour in the Malix.se blog archive

Wednesday Library – Finding the Red Thread in My Own Archive

The human behind the behaviour may be the red thread that has followed me throughout all my years as a blogger. Now that I have created an archive page and started reading old posts, I discovered something unexpected. On the surface, the texts were about different things, but underneath they kept returning to the same questions about people, belonging, responsibility and hope.

When Old Texts Start Talking to Each Other

This week I have been working on a new archive page here on the blog. The idea was actually quite simple. I wanted to make it easier to find all the texts that have accumulated over the years.

When you have been blogging for a long time, you end up with a lot of words.

Some posts I had almost forgotten that I had written. Others I remembered clearly as soon as I saw the title. It felt like opening old boxes in the attic and looking through things that had been tucked away for years.

But then something unexpected happened.

As I started reading old posts, I noticed that they began talking to one another.

The Same Questions Keep Returning

The Human Behind the Behaviour – The Red Thread

I read about young people who had lost their way.

I read about clients moving on from the unit.

I read about colleagues who had left their mark on me and taught me important lessons.

I read about winter swimming, Christmas celebrations, family life and all the small moments of everyday life.

On the surface, the posts were about completely different things.

But beneath the surface I saw something else.

I saw that for many years I have returned to the same questions:

How do we help people before it is too late?

How do we keep our hearts open in a hard world?

How do people find belonging?

How do we continue to care even when it hurts?

The Human Behind the Behaviour

One thing that struck me was how often I try to understand the person behind what is visible.

The young person behind the anger.

The client behind the problems.

The child behind the behaviour.

Even people whose opinions I struggle to understand, I try to see as human beings first.

That does not mean I agree with everything.

But it does mean that I believe understanding is often a better path than condemnation.

The Archive Became a Mirror

The Human Behind the Behaviour – A Recurring Theme

When I started creating the archive page, I thought I was simply organising texts.

Instead, it became like looking into a mirror.

I saw that much has changed over the years.

But I also saw that something has remained remarkably unchanged.

I seem to return again and again to people.

To relationships.

To belonging.

To hope.

Welcome to the Archive – The Human Behind the Behaviour

If you are new to the blog, the archive page may help you find older texts.

If you have been reading for a long time, perhaps you will find something you remember.

As for me, I found something else.

I found a red thread that I did not realise I had been following for so many years.

Perhaps I have really been writing about the same thing all along.

People trying to find their way home to themselves.

Your Voice: Between the Lines – The Human Behind the Behaviour

Sometimes we think we are writing about ordinary things. About swimming, Christmas, work or cars. But as the years pass, it can turn out that we have been writing about something much bigger all along. Perhaps it is only when we look back that we understand what has truly mattered to us.

As I read old posts, I realised that the human behind the behaviour kept appearing again and again, whether I was writing about young people, colleagues, winter swimming or family life.

Question for You, the Reader

When I went back through old posts while creating the archive page, I discovered a red thread that I had not really noticed before.

I saw that I kept returning to people, relationships, belonging, responsibility and hope.

Now I am curious.

If you have read my blog over the years – what do you see in my writing?

Is there a theme, a thought or something recurring that you feel characterises my posts?

Please feel free to leave a comment and share your thoughts.

I have now created an archive page where it is easier to find older texts on the blog. If you would like to explore previous posts, you can find the archive here:
