When spring arrives, small signs of life begin to appear in the body.
There is something special about spring in everyday life – how the light, the air, and nature suddenly make you want to be outside again.

Yes, feelings slowly begin to move through the body. Feelings that want to be out in the light, in nature, and in the fresh air.
We actually brought spring out already on Wednesday.
A little boy needed money for a game, and my terrace needed its cushions. The hammock needed its cushions too.
So we helped each other.
He brought out the cushions and I paid for the game.
There is something special about spring in everyday life.

It is not only nature that wakes up – something wakes up inside us as well. For me, spring in everyday life often begins with small things.
On my blog I often write about everyday life, ADHD and presence, and how small moments in life can create a sense of safety.
The Word Game in the Car
When I picked Alfred up in the afternoon, we played a word game in the car.
We either choose a theme or just say words, and the word you say must begin with the last letter of the word the other person said.
That little boy knows so many words.
So many words that I didn’t think someone that young could know.
Carbon dioxide.
Symmetry.
Orthodox.
He even explained what the words meant.
Although the last word he thought had something to do with the state.
I explained that it has to do with religion and how people in different countries believe in God in different ways. Orthodox believers live in places like where Putin lives and in other parts of the world.
Here at home we are Protestants.
We believe that Jesus died on the cross and forgave all our sins.
On my blog I often write about everyday life, ADHD and presence – about small moments, relationships and life as it actually feels.

When Spring Suddenly Becomes Another Story
Oh dear.
Here I was going to write about spring and the wonderful feelings in the body.
But of course – Alfred is part of those wonderful feelings.
When we came home I told Alfred that someone had magically brought spring here.
He looked at me in a puzzled way and asked:
– Grandma, how do you do that?
What is spring? he asked.
I explained that spring is the time before summer.
When sometimes it is warm but you still need to bring a jacket because it can suddenly get cold.
It is that moment when you want to take off all your clothes to feel the sun on your skin, but it is still too cold for shorts.
Alfred is one of those children who knows many words and asks questions about the world.
We have had many moments like that together, for example when we once made our own game.

Spring in Everyday Life – Bringing Spring Out
He thought it sounded strange but eventually understood what it means to bring spring out.
It is when you bring out the cushions.
When you begin working in the garden.
When you once again go outside and breathe.
And yesterday I celebrated spring for real.
The little boy and I sat out on the terrace and ate our Thursday soup. It was a soup full of root vegetables and minced meat, and with it I had made a mixture of yogurt and sambal oelek.
Thursday and soup also means dessert, and this time it was gluten-free oven pancake with queen’s jam and ice cream.
Of course I also made some sun water on such a beautiful day.

You simply place a jug of water outside and let it sit in the sun for a while. The water becomes softer, more alive, and very refreshing.
This Is How I Celebrate Spring in Everyday Life
This is how I celebrate spring.
Early in the morning you remove the bed sheets and put them in the washing machine.
Then you hang them outside on the drying line.
You let them dry in the wind.
And when you later take the dry sheets down and smell them – then you know.
It is spring.
When you take a shower in the evening and know that tonight is the first night of the year you will crawl into clean sheets that have dried in the wind and sunlight.
I cannot really describe the feeling.
But I think it is a feeling from long ago.
Body Memories and Safety
I believe that small things like this are sometimes more than just everyday moments.
The smell of bed sheets dried outside is not just a smell for me.
It is almost like a body memory.
Maybe it comes from my grandmother.
At her house everything was always clean and tidy.
The house smelled fresh, and the bed sheets always smelled wonderful.
Maybe that is why my body still reacts.
Sometimes a single scent is enough to awaken something that really belongs to another time.
And perhaps that is what safety really is.
For me, the smell of sheets dried outside is part of spring in everyday life.
In the Evening
In the evening I went to a meeting.
There will soon be an election, and that always reminds me how important it is to vote.
For me it is both a right and a responsibility.
A chance to influence what kind of society we want to live in.
I want to live in a Sweden where we take care of each other.
Where people feel that they belong. Where we can live side by side and do things together.
That is what I hope for when I cast my vote.
Spring in Everyday Life – Reflection
Now we are there.
Right now we are in the middle of all of this.
It lies ahead of us.
Not in the middle.
Not at the end.
It has just begun.
Maybe it is exactly these small moments that make spring in everyday life so special.

What is your very first sign of spring?
Between the Lines – Spring in Everyday Life
Sometimes spring is not only in nature.
It is in the small things that awaken something inside the body.
A scent.
A memory.
A child’s question in the car.
And suddenly you know that something has turned.

Yesterday has already settled into history.
Tomorrow is waiting somewhere ahead.
But right now –
this is where life happens.
