Greenhouse shelves and gardening – how I created space in my greenhouse

Greenhouse shelves and gardening became the start of something more than just a project at home.
It became a feeling of landing, getting in sync, and truly beginning – in my own pace.

🌿 Back home – greenhouse shelves in place

We got home in time, unpacked our LVL² and settled back in again.
The greenhouse got its shelves, and I already realize I want to buy two more – lower greenhouse shelves so the bigger pots don’t have to sit directly on the gravel.

Now there is space in there.
In my little greenhouse.

🔧 Greenhouse shelves and a bit of curious help

My husband helped me put the shelves together.
Not difficult at all, I could have done it myself – but I think he was a little curious about how it would turn out too, even if he pretends not to be.

Now I just hope everything in there can handle the heat.

🌱 Gardening in a greenhouse – thyme, seeds and the calm

When the shelves were done, I trimmed my thyme that had been in a pot and placed it in the greenhouse.
Apparently, it should thrive there.

I sowed some seeds in a balcony box.

Here I’m hoping for kale, broccoli and Brussels sprouts… I’m not entirely sure if it will work like this.

And then it came.
That calm.

The feeling of being in control.
Of being in sync with time – at least for now.

Here I plan to grow:

  • kale
  • broccoli
  • Brussels sprouts

🌼 Pre-grow or sow directly – what works best?

It’s supposed to get warm this week, so things might move a bit faster than usual.

I’m also thinking about planting flower seeds that I can later move outside.
Or maybe I should just sow them directly where they will grow… I’m not quite sure yet.

I’ve had a garden for 20 years.
But I haven’t really been interested before.

That means I don’t know that much.

But I can learn.

🌿 Raised beds and outdoor gardening

When the broccoli, kale and Brussels sprouts have grown enough in the greenhouse, they will move out into raised beds.

Right now I’m preparing them.
They need to be dug out and filled with new soil mixed with compost and a bit of ash.

I’m also going to turn them so they’re not under the roof – they should benefit from the rain.

Out there I will grow:

  • potatoes
  • lettuce
  • parsnips
  • carrots
  • peas

🍅 Greenhouse gardening – the next step

When the broccoli and the other plants move out, tomatoes and cucumbers will take their place inside the greenhouse.
But I also want to try growing some things outdoors.

Imagine stepping outside this summer and picking some lettuce, a few herbs and maybe a cucumber.
So close to nature.

Maybe not completely free – considering the work.
But free in money.

And so much tastier than what you buy.

💬 Question for you

Do you sow directly in the soil – or do you pre-grow first?
What has worked best for you?

Do you use greenhouse shelves – or grow directly on the ground?

🌿 Between the lines

This is not just about greenhouse shelves and gardening.

It’s about landing.
Feeling in sync.
Allowing yourself to begin – even when you don’t know everything.

✨ Reflection

Sometimes it’s not about the result.
It’s about the feeling of moving forward.
