ADHD fatigue is not only about being tired. It is about the kind of exhaustion that can appear before the day has even begun.

Sometimes, I need to “shut down” for a while.
Not really disappear.
But to step back inside myself and just… let go.
With ADHD fatigue, even simple things can feel heavy.
ADHD fatigue – when exhaustion hits early
There are mornings when the body is already tired.
Yawning before 9 a.m.
A quiet signal:
Today is not a day to push.
Yesterday was one of those days.
I tried anyway.
Went outside, sprayed between the stones, did what needed to be done.
But the energy wasn’t there.
Choosing to stop instead of pushing
So I went down to the basement.
Lit a fire.
Put on a movie.
And let myself be.
Living with ADHD in everyday life often means pushing through.
But sometimes, the most important thing is to stop.
Letting rest be enough
The hardest part is not being tired.
It’s the thoughts about it.
Feeling like you should do more.
Be more.
But maybe this is where we need to be kinder to ourselves.
Living with ADHD fatigue means learning when to stop.
Rest is also part of life
Some days are not meant for productivity.
Some days are meant for recovery.
And sometimes…
you need to pause deeply
to be able to live fully again.

Reflection
The body often knows before the mind.
And stopping is not weakness.
It can be a quiet kind of strength.
Between the Lines
This is not only about tiredness.
It’s about permission.
To not always be the strong one.
To not always hold everything together.
And to rest – without explaining why.
